This troublesome statement from right-wing Rep. Michele Bachmann comes to us from Talking Points Memo. She had this to say regarding a conversation around House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats leanings towards environmentalism and acknowledging global warming for the real man-made threat it is,
“[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet…We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet — we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that.”
I’ve talked about this before. How the “Let God sort it out” bury-your-head-in-the sand mentality is dangerous when there are so much we have to act on as a collective and united country, Christian and non-Christian alike. Wake up and lead or get out of the way, Michele!
