As Phil Hartman’s home realtor Simpsons character stated, “There’s the truth (hands raised in double quotes), and the truth (winks and elbow jabs).” It appears Troy and Mitch have been reading the same playbook.
There’s the truth:
The state is faced with unemployment numbers not seen in 16 years. News sources and politicians almost defend these numbers by stating that it was just due to an unusual high amount of seasonal layoffs. This points to an even more troubling phenomena in Indiana’s job market, the quality of the jobs present in the state. Teresa Voors, Indiana Department of Workforce Development commissioner, said in a statement, “Employment increased in the construction industry, as workers repaired homes and businesses that were damaged in the June floods.” Great, now we’re relying on natural disasters for help getting jobs into the state.
