David Letterman reacts to McCain’s last minute cancellation to ‘race’ back to D.C.

More proof that Letterman is one of my favorite Hoosiers.  His best line tonight…”The Road to the White House has always run through me!”

Obama’s wise words to McCain – A president needs to be able to multi-task

Smart move keeping the pressure up to hold these debates.  The American people, the whole system needs these debates.  Now, we have word that the McCain camp wants to push back the Biden-Palin v.p. debates. Sounds like desperation to me too.  Glad to see Obama acting like the leader he is.

ouch! John McCain’s campaign manager made almost $2 million from 2000-2002

From the NY Times:
Senator John McCain’s campaign manager was paid more than $30,000 a month for five years as president of an advocacy group set up by the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to defend them against stricter regulations.
This is near insulting to sit here and listen to John claim to be a [...]

Sen. Lyndsey Graham – McCain healthcare and tax policy is ‘absolutely’ an extension of Bush

Whoops!  I bet Sen. Graham got 10 GOP demerits for this comment.  McCain sure doesn’t sound like change on healthcare and taxes.

Nice primer on John McCain from the AFL-CIO

On a side note, I really like the design interface for this primer on John McCain.  Great info on everything from trade, the economy, worker’s rights, and his numerous similarities to Bush.

Rage Against the Machine acapella protest at the RNC

This is just great.  These guys step out into the crowds of people, rally against Bush-McCain and rap/beatbox Bulls On Parade and Killing in the Name Of.  Morello is all class when he tells the crowd, that despite the cops fearing the masses, they (the crowd) and the police with their tear gas and rubber bullets have more in common [...]

The Republican Presidential Ticket – a pandering move now with twice the historic significance

Among the countless assessments of McCain’s VP pick, I thought this comment from the Washington Monthly to be succinct and to the point:
When looking for a running mate, Barack Obama looked to someone who could help make him a better president. When looking for a running mate, John McCain looked to someone who could help [...]

Rasmussen poll – McCain holds slight lead over Obama in Indiana

Indiana, one of the nation’s newest purple state, slightly favors McCain in a recent Rasmussen poll.  Polled Aug. 19-21st, Hoosiers give McCain a 4% edge, ‘without leaners’ and curiously think that W. has performed better than fair in the White House.
How do you rate the way that George W. Bush is performing his role as President? Excellent, [...]
